About Runnemede
At a glance. Runnemede is a Camden County borough of 8,324 people (2020 census). The borough office is at 24 North Black Horse Pike.
History. The borough names John Ashbrook as its first settler; his will is dated October 9, 1727. The present Clement's Bridge was completed in 1928.

Getting around. Routes 168 and 41 meet in the borough, and the New Jersey Turnpike passes through it. NJ Transit's 400 bus runs to Philadelphia, and the 455 gives local service.
Selling a home. New Jersey requires a certificate for working smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and a portable fire extinguisher before a one- or two-family home gets a new owner or tenant. Ask the Runnemede borough construction office whether anything else is checked before a sale. Rules change, so check with the town before listing.
