About South Jersey Today
South Jersey Today is an independent local news and events site for Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties. It is not part of any newspaper, TV station or chain.
How the news works
Every 15 minutes the site checks dozens of local publishers, county and town offices and weather alerts, and lists their newest South Jersey headlines by county. Each headline links straight to the publisher who reported it. We do not copy their articles.
Stories about the same event are grouped together, and the stories at the top of the homepage are the ones with the widest local impact or the most outlets covering them. Stories from outside South Jersey are left out.
What we write ourselves
The town guides, school rankings, local history, filming guide and seasonal guides are written for this site, with the sources listed on each page and the date each was last reviewed.
The weekend and events pages are built from county, library and organizer calendars and from events that organizers send in. Every submitted event, nomination and business listing is checked by a person before it appears.
Who publishes this site
South Jersey Today publishes this site. It is independent and is not owned by any newspaper, TV station or chain. Articles and guides written here carry the byline South Jersey Today, and each one lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
Corrections
If something on the site is wrong or out of date, message us on Facebook and we will fix it. For a mistake inside a news story, please also tell the publisher, since the story is theirs.
Pictures on our Facebook Page
Some of our Facebook posts carry a real photograph from Wikimedia Commons. We do not use AI-generated pictures. Each photograph is in the public domain or under a Creative Commons license that allows reuse. Whoever made it and the license are named on the picture, and the post links to the original. The pictures are cropped to fit. Where the license is CC BY-SA, our version of the picture may be reused under that same license.
