Help Paying Heating Bills in South Jersey
New Jersey's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Universal Service Fund (USF) help households pay heating and electric bills. For the 2026 to 2027 season the state takes applications from October 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, first come, first served. Households with gross income at or below 60 percent of the state median income can qualify; for a household of four that is $98,602 a year. Apply online through the state, call the state's energy assistance hotline at 1-800-510-3102, or contact the agency for your county below. Applicants 60 or older, or with a disability, can apply by mail or ask for a home visit.
