About Shiloh
At a glance. Shiloh is a Cumberland County borough of 444 people (2020 census). The municipal office is at 900 Main Street.
History. The community was established in 1705, when several Seventh Day Baptist families bought land here. It was first known as Cohansey Corners. For most of its history the village was divided between Stow Creek and Hopewell townships. The Borough of Shiloh became its own municipality in 1929.
Schools. Shiloh students attend Hopewell Crest School for kindergarten through eighth grade, and the borough belongs to the Cumberland Regional School District. Shiloh's own public school is closed.
Selling a home. New Jersey requires a certificate for working smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and a portable fire extinguisher before a one- or two-family home gets a new owner or tenant. Ask the Shiloh borough office whether anything else is checked before a sale. Rules change, so check with the town before listing.
